Christian Mental Health Counseling

Rest. Healing. Change.

Caring for souls is caring for people in ways that not only acknowledge them as persons but also engage and address them in the deepest and most profoundly human aspects of their lives.
— David G. Benner

REST

Everyone has a story. Not everyone feels the safety to share that story. Frederick Beuchner says we ”share the headlines, but rarely the back pages of our stories.” At Grace Counseling, the hope is to provide a safe place and space for you to rest and share your story- to get the opportunity to be known in places that have felt scary, overwhelmed, distressed or painful. Sometimes, we need a professional counselor to come alongside and help us find that place of rest.

HEALING

As we begin to feel the safety to share our story, we often uncover the reality of difficulty and pain in the world, and in our lives. Whether it be something we’ve experienced personally, or what we see around us, the weight can sometimes feel unbearable. From feeling the pressure of needing to have life put together, to anxiety or depression, the counseling relationship offers a place for healing and grace from where life’s hardest experiences have deeply left their mark.

CHANGE

Life is always in process, a journey of becoming more wholly, and wholeheartedly, who you were created to be- relationally, emotionally, spiritually, physically, sexually. When given the place to rest and heal, new hope for change can emerge, and opportunity to gain more freedom and wholeheartedness can follow. When we learn where it is that we are most impacted or stuck, we can grow more towards becoming who we were meant to be.
